Another Borders Region TP less than a minutes walk from the car, and this one just 10 minutes from the A1. Surprised it had no visitors at all last year, esp as it commands spectacular views, even on a hazy day like today. Certainly worthy of a re-visit on a clearer day.

Visit as per previous logs. Very, very windy so didn't stay that long. With the exception of the phone mast this is a nice spot with really decent views to the Cheviots.

Second visit. For GPS reading and photographs. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces 155 SSE. Vented through NW sight hole. Potholed approach road was quite an obstacle course to drive.

This hill is also called Warlawbank Hill, but very early it was always called Wardlawbank Hill and therefore of special interest to me. My Wardlaw ancestors owned a lot of land here in the 1400s.

Me at trig point Another Wardlaw ancestor site. Lands owned at West Reston, Butterdean, etc.

Easy visit, past the donkeys - very friendly to the mast. Big views to Holy Island, Cheviots, Caldcleuch Head and Fife. Told by one of the residents in the nearby cottages that winter was tough up here. Intact
