Perplexed on how people have got themselves into such a pickle reaching this pillar. From the B5278 I followed the public bridleway (room for two cars) on a wide track and through a gate. Follow the wall for 150 metres and go N across a field to ascend on a path and through some gorse. On car park duty earlier today at the JK2023 in Haverthwaite (day 3). On a bank holiday weekend there are always quite secluded parts of any national park to retreat to. Gifted to Haverthwaite and the South Lakes
