As others, parked by the gates to the reservoir, then walked around the boundary of the field (young green shoots in field prevented me charging straight across for the shortest route). Then up from the south along the field boundary to find the pillar which retains its cap with shallow lettering, one sight-hole open, and another pierced. About 20 minutes in all.

P109 parked at reservoir, jumped over gate and found a wee track to field. Then followed tractor tags around fields to trig.

Parked at the gates to the reservoir and headed back to the private road to Humbie Farm and then up the hedgerow to the pillar. Plenty of room at the field boundary despite the field not yet being cropped. Interesting home made signs recommending the use of a stick waved above your head to ward off over-protective buzzards. Not great views from this one.

Pulled over on narrow road about 1.5miles from trig to check map. Pick-up came along, stopped along side. Driver asked me *Are you lost?* Told him wanting Humbie Farm. *Follow me!* Took me right up private road to Humbie Farm to required hedge line! Perfect! Tractors in field lifting straw bales.

Came in via open reservoir gate to west and across stubble field, back out to south. Access would be better from that direction when crops growing.

Located a mile north west of Kirkliston on an intermittent hedge boundary between two arable fields. This is furthest outlying Edinburgh trig, over 9 miles from city centre. Easiest accessed from south. Views to Turnhouse, Lammer Law, Blackford Hill, Wester Craiglockhart Hill, Braid Hills, Allermuir Hill, Scald Law, West Cairn Hill, Binny Craig, Ben Cleugh. Pillar in excellent condition, spider retains original OS plug with shallow engraved font. Flush bracket faces NNE. Weather sunny. GRP 24/08/2003.

In 1947 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NT18/T24 in the Dunfermline secondary block. The flush bracket was measured for height in 1964. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in April 1980. On boundary line between arable fields.
