Followed same route as Borderer, from Keith Fergus's book, but as the weather was rather changeable we came off the hill and returned via Glensax (interesting dilapidated "Wild West" farmstead!). Super views down across Peebles towards the Pentlands from the trig, and the carpeting of heather on all the surrounding hills was an awesome sight.

Moi posing at the trig :-)

Anti-clockwise trip around the Glensax horseshoe starting and finishing in Peebles (start of the Beltane Festival - very busy). Followed directions from a great book by K.R. Fergus 'The Tweed 25 Walks from Source to Sea'. Weather started off ropy but ended up as a nice afternoon. Great views and worth the blisters.

Third visit. Top surface of pillar suffering the usual frost damage, otherwise in good condition. The spider is now open. The OS cap had a raised font and was stolen some time between 17/07/1990 and 1/05/1999. The centre hole is not lined with a metal tube (a design change made in 1947 I believe) as some older trigs are, so a few more frosty winters could be a problem for this trig. The stud is buried by all the stones since dropped down the centre. Flush bracket faces north east. Located near the summit of Scawd Law, up in the Hundleshope Heights, three miles due south of Peebles. No access problems. Views to Pentland, Meldon and Moorfoot Hills, also Peebles. Revisited and photographed 21/06/2003, GRP.
