A long cross-country walk on a lovely spring like day from Marlow to Henley was involved in order to find this one. Like a few others I initially walked past it as it is indeed buried deep into a hedgerow which is getting thicker with each passing year. Good job it was late March as i imagine by June/July it would be submerged. Nice location but in truth a pretty average pillar.

As previously reported the pillar is completely encased in the thorn hedgerow bounding the NW side of the farm access road. I paced it at 8m beyond the automatic bollards. Hedgerow is not dense and with minimal pruning one could get in there and view the top, I declined due to proximity of road, although FB can easily be viewed and photographed. I didn't look for or see any damage.

I came up the ROW from Hambleden and did find it rather discover where it was as the hedge completely hides it. I wouldnt worry about the CCTV or security as two people, one in a car and one in an open top John Deer Jeep thing went past me as i was going up and down the hedge and didnt say anything. I could see the slight damage at the bottom close to the FB but couldnt see the top because of the hedge.

Parked at the start of the private road to Hutton's Farm, Woodcroft Gate, just to the E of the trig. The private road was protected by rising bollards. The trig was on the N side of the private road, just after the rising bollards and before the CCTV camera, buried well into the hedge. I was only just able to spot it on very close scrutiny. Did not do any cutting back of the hedge as it was in full view of the CCTV camera, so I just stuck my hand into the hedge and took a photo of the trig. FB faces the road. Unable to check for sightholes or to see the top of the trig.

Quite overgrown now as the hedge is burgeoning with new growth - in fact just the top showing as you walk past but it's easy to shove the undergrowth aside to read the FB (which faces south). In the paddock opposite the trig was a large group of long-eared goats trying to eat the hawthorn trees to the side of the paddock. Shane thought they were cute, I thought they were a bit evil looking. Tarmac plug.
