Beinn Bhreac summit. vgc Spider open. Superb views of Loch Lomond end to end plus much more. Previously visited this Graham 29/06/99 & 15/11/05 no trig details noted.

why this is called Invergroin when it's on the top of Beinn Bhreac is all rather strange, again the centre is missing

Nice summit, grass and rock, simple steep ascent from S. vgc, no cap or plug. Crisp winters day, climbed out of the cloud into sunshine.

Despite rain the view down Loch Lomond was still pretty good. I didn't hang about long though.

Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Back sighting hole open, others plugged. Flush bracket faces 249 SW. Historically tertiary station NS29/T58 in secondary block NS29, Greenock. Pillar completed 21st August 1956 at a cost of 99.0s.4d, computed in 1957, and last maintained by the OS in July 1982. Parking at NS329979, follow forest track through first wooded area, then NE parallel with streams, upwards towards left of rocky outcrops onto summit plateau. 360 panorama includes Doune Hill, Ben Donich, The Brack, Beinn Ime, Beinn Narnain, and Ben Lomond. Very fine viewpoint for Loch Lomond. On a remnant knoll after landslip activity. Plug gone, there is a chunk of quartz protecting the hole. OS have the pillar marked in the wrong place on their yellow covered 1:25000 map, the current edition is correct.

tannoy announcement "fire awareness training has been cancelled" scared me a little as I was coming off the summit and I hadn't planned on going to any seminars that day!
