The most easterly of the East Sussex pillars. Sits now within the sea defences with the FB partially buried by a cement screed - had a club hammer but no cold chisel so will have to leave this for a subsequent trigger to sort out! Pillar has an asphalt plug replacing top cap. All sight holes now below ground level. Sea and landscape views abound.

Currently immediately next to (but safe from) a huge project to rebuild the Camber sea wall. Has 8.22 written on the spider, so presumably this is the height of the top. (7m on the map). Views rearwards over the Marshes, but seaward views rather obstructed by the construction. Part buried, and excavating the FB also revealed a 2 coin, which at least went some way to alleviating Camber Sands' extortionate car parking charges. Asphalt cap, all s/holes buried, otherwise good condition.

Parked at the eastern end of Broomhill Sands car park from where it was a short walk East along the sea wall to the pillar. Pillar is easily found part buried in the sea wall just where the Lydd Rd turns inland opposite some bungalows. There is a small layby immediately below the pillar. Original plug has been replaced with tarmac but I suppose we should be thankful that the FB faces N and is therefore still accessible. Best views are across Rye Bay to the SW. Views inland across the rather flat Romney Marsh are unremarkable. Highly unusual to be so close to the sea whilst having a trig pillar for company - I'm more used to being on a hill top or in the middle of a desolate moor !!
