Plenty parking off road to NE on minor road. Over fence and along field edge, over moorland with ditches for a short distance to trig. Good all-round views although weather not good. 10 minutes from car.

Parking in front of forest in distance.

Parked beside logging operations as no one around. Don't. It's a nightmare to navigate through the quicksand type mud caused by the vehicles and the remains of felled trees. Park further along across from the gates and take a simple walk up the side of the field. This is the route I took back from the trig along the fence line much much easier.

Logging operations interfering with suitable parking. Spoke to Rab in his enormous log marshalling machine. He lives on site in his caravan and kindly gave me permission to park beside his pickup--appropriate reg no CR51 LOG.

Came from an easterly direction from Drumbuich Wood up through the firs to reach this pillar which has slight cracking at its top, but otherwise in good condition with asphalt plug. Difficult return route northwards over recently tree-lopped area with deep water filled holes to negotiate, but its all good exercise isn't it?
