Penultimate Bute trig. Direct route up from the road via an alley between houses at NS 1012 5507. Bit of a bracken-fest and quite steep on the upper stages. Pillar in reasonable condition but for some screed missing from one top corner. Top cap has gone, asphalt replacement; RHS and LHS sight holes open. Extensive panoramic views.

Path starts as a grassy track to side of "Springwell" - NS101551. Don't miss KG to east side of wall at NS101550 for good path all the way. (There is a feint path thru' the wood but this soon deteriorates - avoid)

Good condition pillar with some minor damage to the top on one corner. FB faces south-west-ish with the north-west-ish hole open only. Cap missing with an asphalt plug present. Extraordinarily spectacular views today! Very fine steep hill ascended from Kilchattan Bay. There's a timber garage with a motorhome on the Plan Road with hidden steps going between them. This path is a nice route up, brackeny but clear. Steep though!

As FoF and Haggis Hunter have said, we bagged this one at the end of the Geohike around the southern end of the Island. Started to rain as we arrived but not enough to matter. The pillar is in generally good condition but the centre plug has been replaced with a cement fill. Views very good but would have been exceptional on a bright, clear day.
