Path up from the mining museum has been diverted around the woodland until Autumn whilst tree felling is completed. Half-way up is a peculiar hollow waymarker - presumably meant to be a trail sculpture but it looked more like a discarded bag of cement :) Trig in poor condition with about half the top screed gone; plug missing; numerous small cracks in the pillar surface; plinth crumbling. Graffiti scratched on FB and spider. Lots of cotton grass and cloudberry.

Climbed up here after finding "All Hope Dies Here" geocache. Fortunately, the weather had been dry recently or this T/P would have been in the middle of a peat bog. It's suffered somewhat from frost damage and is crumbling away on the corners. The centre plug has been removed. On the day I visited it was warm and sunny but very hazy which spoilt the views a little. On a clear day, they would be very good indeed.
