En route to Bonnyrigg Rose football ground, and stopped off here for a simple lope up the field to claim S3081. Cap in place with shallow lettering,3 sight-holes closed and one open. Enjoyed the views just as the sunshine appeared; also enjoyed the nibbling sheep close by.

Spur of the moment walk to the Trig seeing as we hadn't managed to get one bagged in a long while. Over a year...What happened there? Disappointing. But great to get that buzz back of finding another one. We have passed this one hundreds of times without even knowing it was there in the field! Easy walk from parking at the side of the road and walking up through the field. The trig is just out of sight from the road but once you start walking up the field you will soon see it in the distance. Fantastic views all around the trig and with the sun shining today it really complimented the view no end. There were three sheep awaiting our arrival at the trigpoint. They were having a good look at us! Trigpoint in good condition and seemed to look very tall for a trigpoint in relation to all the others we have seen but this is probably just due to us not seeing any for a good while! Andy said he couldn't get up to do his signature pose hahaha I think he's just shrinking in his old age... Being 30 taking its toll ha! We really enjoyed getting to see the Trig and we will certainly be back on it and bagging a few more at least this year.... When Coronavirus lock down is finally over that is.

I'd forgotten the forest was gone, so ended up coming at it diagonally from ENE, which was a pretty useless way of going about it, except as a reminder that 'clearfell' is self-contradictory term. Much easier just heading along the field edge to the road. My last trig in the former Lothian Region.
