Better views today than I've enjoyed before, almost cloudless sky, could see a very long way into Scotland. ~~ 17/11/13 First visit - This was the last big walk I did in the Cheviots on my own, a couple of weeks after this I rescued Rosie my Springer Spaniel for 7 fantastic years of hill walking adventures. Prior to getting a dog I used to enjoy walking on my own, but the acquisition of such a fantastic companion as Rosie changed my outlook forever.

Great views all around with the Scotland on one side and England on the other. Plug removed and some wear and tear around the base. Chose an 'interesting' day to do it, deep soft powdery snow all the way up from Cocklawfoot made for tortuously slow progress to Hexpathgate, and even slower along the border ridge. There was no trace whatsoever of the flagstone path! We returned by taking a direct traverse down Kingsseat Shin to the track that follows Cocklaw Burn back to the start.
