2 trig points, 5 buses (including the 2 back home), 11, miles walking,10 fence crossings, 29 rainbows ( ok thats an exaggeration but there were a lot and they were good ones) and no cows, Kinnettles TP is 1.5 miles from the bus stop at Kinnettles Road end on the A932 at NO448484. The pillar is in good nick apart froim the FB plate being half buried. The lettered spider cap is intact. There were excellent views to the snow covered Glenshee hills and the less well covered ones in the Angus Glens. After this I continued on mapped tracks to Kincaldrum Hill Pillar, 4 miles further on. The fences came in groups - 2 around Kinnettles House (if you follow my route do not go into the grounds, you will be unable to get out the impressive gates at the end of the drive, The field to the west of the house is relatively easily accessed through the woods with a crossable fence at NO425469. 2nd group of fences is shortly before Kincaldrum Hill itself and although one is an electric fence it was switched off.

From track to North KInnettles. Over barbed wire fence to inspect it. The flush bracket is partially covered and didn't have tool or time to dig it out.

A lengthy walk along the B9127 from Inverarity, then up the minor Whirlies Road to its summit where it was due west along the edge of a potato field past the mast and reservoir. The pillar was almost hidden behind the wall and barbed wire fence on the north side where the flushbracket faces.

Second visit. For GPS reading and photographs. SITE VISIT: Approached from east. Parked on verge by wasteland at NO435475. Followed north side of mapped field boundaries to resr and around compound to trig. Bottom foot of pillar buried by field boundary soil and grass. Undertook excavation of earth sufficient to reveal whole flush bracket and position camera for level photographs of the number. Pillar otherwise in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces NNW, ~339°. All horizontal sight holes buried. Views lost to fog on day of visit.

Had to dig out the FB number. Used some flat sharp stones to dig out the earth and then scraped around the muddied number with a piece of wire found dangling on a fence. Climbed back over a drystone wall and two barbed wire fences to return back downhill to the road. A rarely visited trig it seems.
