Walked up from Swilebog, the weather was pretty miserable and the path - well it was a slimy river, worse on the way down as the heather route also proved to be very slippy - I was on my *rse more than once. Sapphire did really well as the are some quite big jumps up on the way.

Second visit. For photographs and GPS readings. HISTORY: Early records for these Lossiemouth Base Extension pillars are unclear but this pillar may have been built by 1912. Computed as primary triangulation station PP339 within Figure 3 of the OSGB36 primary network during 1937. The pillar top was levelled for height in 1952 but flush bracket 11090 was not added to the pillar until 1963. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in June 1987. SITE VISIT. Approached from east. Parked be south side of unclassified road at NJ547552 where there is limited space for a few cars. Beeline up steep straight path to summit. Lossiemouth style column on heather clad top. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces southwest, ~233. Vented through northwest sight hole. Slightly overtopped by cairn from where there is an extensive 360 panoramic view.
