Parked on wide grass verge. A convenient hole in hedge enabled access into field. Followed the field edge up to brow of hill where the trig was found sat in wall.

Quite a straightforward visit: cap in place and at least two sight-holes open. Visited the nearby contrasting but equally superb churches at Hatherop and Southrop (both beautiful Cotswold villages), then endured a goal-less draw at the County Ground. A hit & miss sort of day.

Walked around the field edge. Went past a pheasant feeding station and a cloud of birds took to the air. TP is now part of a dry stone wall.

On our way home from doing some Geocaching in the area and decided to grab this one on our way back. Parked on the road and took the field edge to the Trig which is in line with the stone wall. Disturbed two deer who startled us by their close proximity. Also found a live 12 bore cartridge on the ground. Elevation 152 meters.

Parked on wide grass verge of minor road to E of pillar, by disused sheepwash (marked on 1:25k map). Care needed here as deep drainage ditches running at 90deg to road and partially hidden by grass. Handy gap in hedge from which to access field - although has been planted with saplings to close the gap! Field boundary followed to trig, which has dry-stone wall built either side of it - one side collapsed. Pillar looks to be in good condition; original cap in place, deeply indented lettering; front SH open, rear becoming unsealed. Farmland views.

Holes are worth watching out for however just south of where the "trig fenceline " meets the road there is a pullin on the East side of the road opposite a gap in the hedge. Approach is then sheltered for all bar the last 80m.

We parked at the end of the hedge line and walked up to the trig, acquiring loads of earth on our boots on the way. The fields in this area must have been grazed by sheep (hence the ruined sheep wash) but are now all arable. The trig was built into the wall but this has now collapsed on one side. The pillar is covered in lichen. Plug with indented lettering.
