Another ridiculous 04:45 departure from Salford near Manchester to 'cover' the long drive in hope of 'knocking-off' seven SW Lakeland trigs...Knott Hill, Coal Gate, Bank House Moor, High Haume Farm, Hare Hill, Bowesfield Farm & Birkrigg Common...A 'round' trip of 225 miles with return home at 3pm. For Knott Hill, 'pull-in' parked at GR 18121 87197 & walking North, veered left at the finger-post for Swiniside to visit Sunkenkirk Stone Circle. Re-tracing the path back, 'took' a right over a gate to 'head' steeply uphill to the trig. For Coal Gate, lay-by parked across the road from the train station at Foxfield (by the bus stop & post box) GR 20889 85514 & going around the road bend, 'picked-up' the Cumbrian Coastal Way finger-post. Taking a right to 'head' uphill at GR 21463 86226, a left at the gate soon 'took' me to the trig. For Bank House Moor sort'a off-road parked at GR 24777 81044 & went for a direct approach thro' the heather to the trig. For High Haume Farm off-road parked at GR 22426 75071, a large area off the A595. Followed the road 'running' parallel with the A595 NW, N, NE, with, just before the mast at GR 22426 75680, a set of steps thro' the hedge 'presenting' left with, from there on an easy uphill to the trig...I missed the set of steps so 'make' for an easier approach by taking care not to! For Hare Hill having 'made' the crossing to Walney Island, off-road parked at GR 21036 63213 just before South End Caravan Park. Followed the road SW 'taking' a left then right at a finger-post to 'skirt' Hare Hill & locate the trig with relative ease aside a mast & beacon. For Bowesfield Farm parked across, but somewhat driven backward into, the open-gated area at GR 23037 71119 & walked uphill to the trig...initially out of sight consequence of the curvature of the hill. For Birkrigg Common parked off-road at GR 28298 74058 & 'made' for a direct ascent thro' the heather to the trig. The seven 'bagged, a 'run' of just seven coastal trigs Seascale to Hodbarrow to 'bring closure' to The English Lakes OL6 map. Finishing a particular OS map seems to have taken precident over total trig number now, 'tis "Oh so satisfying" to put a map to 'bed'! But just for the record...694 & fast approaching my target of 750!

Parked car north of Crag Hill at the bridge sd181877. Began with a visit to the stone circle at Swinside. Followed the track west of pillar. Impossible to access the access land unless you are prepared to clamber a stone wall. Once on summit the views are amazing. Especially east to Duddon Sands. Another cement pillar in good condition. The spider core is infilled. Descended via farm fields to the east.
