I jumped a fence while doing the Holt Hike series, it is so overgrown in the enclosure, I couldn't even see the flush bracket.

Visited with permission of the householder. She said the fence around the pillar was put ther to stop the horses from injuring themselves on it. She was unaware that anyone else had ever visited the site!

We parked on the Welsh Road East between Southam and Priors Marston opposite the entrance to Southam Holt Farm where there is a layby. We walked up the footpath and across to the trig, avoiding having to ask at the farm. The crop (some kind of brassica root crop) looked as though it should have been harvested some time ago. Base badly eroded. Plug with resin insert.

Enjoyed a nice pint of Adnams Broadside bitter at the Bell in Ladbroke before taking a walk up the hill to Ladbroke Hill Farm. Sought permission but nobody at home so carefully approached the trig taking care not to stand on the crops. The trig is in good condition but the base is badly eroded. I would have probably given this a decent mark in fine weather but today there was a gale blowing so much so that when I returned a tree was blocking the road through Ladbroke.
