Called back with GPS as I was in the area, and quickly found 2 decent sized chunks bearing impression of centre hole. I shifted the best piece to the top of the bank for ease of location. Thought I had missed the boat with this one - nice surprise :-) Approx 25m beyond the mast, exactly where expected. NB there is apparently supposed to be a Block there.

Out for a big cycle and 'just' happened to be passing! A new looking comms mast and large pile of debris marks the spot. Was in shorts so didn't fancy raking thru' the nettles and other assorted jaggies to find the remains.

Well turned into rubble. A fair bit of it is there, but in pieces, under a hedge. A lot of earth has been moved hereabouts so its fortunate that the earthly remains are still visible. Low quality area frequented by low quality people. Another unofficial tip. Some mobile phone masts and an anti vermin gate, but no fence! completes the pretty picture. Trig still shown on my 1970's OS map.

Second unexpectedly missing pillar within an hour. Was FB No S3022, Built 28/02/43, destroyed 27/06/80 and now a block. (Info courtesy OS 25/03/03). Discovered missing in 1983, but continued to appear on Landranger 66 until the 1990s. Pieces of concrete still on site are spray painted suggesting that local vandals prompted the demise of this pillar. GRP.
