Walked up from Galashiels bus station. Thought the golf course and then picked up a path heading east which took me roughly towards the trig. Over a couple of gates and found the trig just of the crest of the hill. Interesting view down the length of Galashiels

Parked at Ellwyn Crescent and walked uphill though Langlee Mains Private Rd. Followed a labrynth of tracks to this pillar, which is situated in an open field. that looks South across Galashiels. A lovely spot. Pillar is in good condition. Spider intact.

Overcast day, with tops of the Eildons in cloud, but reasonable views al the same, Black Hill to the E very visible. Parked on Ellwyn Terrace just by Langlee Mains Private Road, short walk up that to woodlands and (muddy) paths all the way to the top of the hill. Through an old iron gate in the plantation and slightly back down the hill to the TP. When the newly planted trees on the lower slopes mature this will be a really lovely area.

Nice and easy to navigate from the Buckholm trig - find these trigs that aren't on top of the hills rather odd!

What a lovely location. Extensive views across the Borders countryside, with the snow capped Cheviot visible way off to the south east. Very slight damage to one corner - probably frost damage. Apart from that in good nick.
