Parked near the pub in Henley Swan (looked like a good one, but we were due to check out of our accommodation later that day). Walked along the pavement by the B4209 and took the second public footpath that leads straight to the Trig. Passed by a memorial to the Canadian crew of a Wellington bomber. Further along I noticed some mistletoe growing above the path. ‘Twas the season to be jolly, so I waited for my better half to catch up. Was worth the wait. No electric fencing and the cows were a respectful distance away so accessed the Trig with ease. With the sun low in the sky and Malverns, we enjoyed a great backdrop. Trig seems to be leaning a little.

We parked by the fork in the lane, to the north of the pillar. There is a new farm track made of sleepers but that’s not a public RoW so we walked past the house to the start of the footpath… which is. A pleasant walk across the meadow and up the hedge-line to the pillar. It’s deep inside the hedge and not easy to spot at this time of year. It’s complete with all its metalwork but appears to be leaning slightly to the left as you look at it from the path. If you can see over the hedge, the view west towards the Malvern Hills is the best.
