Was located at what is now 28 Quarry Rd, Law. Spoke with the owner, regrets he didn't salvage the pillar when his house was built - it would have been located in the middle of his drive next to what is now the pavement edge, so was a necessary removal otherwise he wouldn't have been able to access his property - but the builders removed and (presumably) destroyed it before he thought about it.

Darned builders could have left it on the pavement but it obviously got in the way of their rush to throw up another Bungalow. :-(

Law Hill ..unnecessarily removed. :-(

NS820513, LR65 & 72. Visited to record FB number and for photography. HISTORY: Pillar completed 12th February 1946 costing 9.8s.0d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NS77/T36 in 1947. Flush bracket S3629 was levelled for height in 1963. Last maintained by the OS in August 1971. SITE VISIT: This was still a peaceful roadside setting in June 1995. The pillar was in good condition. The flush bracket faced eastwards across the road and the spider had lost its OS plug. The housing on the west side of this road has since been extended southwards. This trig pillar was recorded destroyed 14th January 2000. [Information courtesy OS]. Photographed 26/06/1995, GRP.
