I'd been staying at the Valley B&B at Gott for nearly two weeks from where I could see this pillar from the bedroom window! On my last evening staying here and on the way back from a day on the Westside I parked in the parking area at HU 4268 4628 - just off the A970 at the turning for Gott. My route from here to the pillar comprised sheep-grazed fields for most of the way with a little bit of moor for the last hundred metres or so. The pillar has a small air navigation light for company. FB faces SSE; all sightholes open; metal cap with raised letters. Very good views considering the relatively low elevation.

Relatively easy walk up to this trig. Interesting to view traffic from a different angle on a road quite frequently travelled.
