earlier post suggested that the chap in the house was amenable enough to folk visiting the pillar in the corner of his garden, so drove into the grounds and parked up by his house - one car on the drive, but no answer when I knocked on the door, so went ahead and walked over to pillar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKf2La1Vwyw

A nip though the entrance and through an electric fence meant a walk up the field before a revers nip to get the photo. No-one about to ask, otherwise I would have done so. We parked on the wide pavement just before the entrance into the garden. I stealthily wandered in and heard the unmistakable sound of a chap mowing his lawn on a Sunday morning. He had a spaniel with him and I reckoned that if I headed for the trig the dog would probably spot me anyhow. I wandered over and asked permission which as granted no problem - although he might have thought I was from the local asylum as he commented on the hundreds of scratches on my bare legs which I had picked up over the last two days. (Sometimes trigging can be a form of self mutilation this time of year)! I hauled Chris and Shane out of the car and we all approached the trig with the owner and Oscar the dog. The final approach was through nettles which didn't improve the leg situation at all, as neither did Oscar when he kept jumping up. Never mind! No views, plug with lightly indented lettering.

Fully intact pillar with central plug still there. On the edge of a private garden but easily visible from the adjacent field, even though you have to go through the house entrance gate to access the field! Some views eastwards but generally disappointing. The allocated name is strange as Lea Castle Gardens are some way off across the A449.
