Should have been three out of three today on a visit to daughter and son-in-law, didn't bother to take the relevant map of the trig location, just the map of its approach. Thinking it was was just off the main footpath I was stumped, was it removed? I couldn't find it...Enjoyed the walk and the chalk scenery, however, but still...

Took a while to find this trig, it is currently well nestled into the hedgerow. Accessible just off a public footpath. Good views to the North and West.

Buried in a thick-ish hedge but not inaccessible. There is just room to stand slightly hunched next to the pillar for photographic purposes...Plug intact, access from east side of hedge.

The first of a 10 T/P sortie into south Cambridgeshire. I parked at the start of the footpath NW of the cache. There is room to park a car off road here without blocking any access. The first field had recently been cultivated but there were parallel tyre tracks marking the path. Fortunately, the soil was dry and easy to walk on. The second field had also been cultivated but the footpath so far remains unmarked so I took my best guess and headed across toward the SE corner. I spotted the T/P as I aproached the hedgerow; at this time of year it is reasonably visible. Itís complete with all metalwork in place and in very good condition. It was a bright and sunny, if very cold morning with a little haze on the horizon. The view north, down the field towards Litlington is probably the best.

4 of 13.This took much longer than it should have done.Walked up the footpath from Litlington.Part of the second field had been ploughed so diverted NE up to the hedge then SE to the SW-NE hedge and copse.I had it in my mind that the trig was on this line and spent a lot of time hunting in the copse.Eventually gave up but decided to check the other hedge from the NE side only to discover the trig and that I had walked past it on my way up.Back round the other side for the flush bracket to find that the trig is easy to miss as it is almost completely hidden inside the hedge.Good views in all directions.

A bit of a search. Approach up farm track that follows hedgerow perpendicular from road. Go through the hedge at the footpath and continue up to copse on top of hill. Turn north and follow other hedge, go through this hedge to find TP slightly easier. Good views!

The pillar is buried in a hedge a little way down from teh top of the hill. A footpath runs nearby, and it is easy to acces. It may be hard to find in spring and summer when the hedge is overgrown.
