Parked just before the cattle grid, short but quite steep pull up to the top. Well worth it, absolutely spectacular views in all directions. Trig recently repaired and repainted, so looks quite smart. Upper Coquetdale must be one of the most beautiful places to visit

Someone has done a repair to the trig point and painted it a nice bright white, great job. So have marked it up as in good condition. Parked on grass verge at the 227-spot height on Carnaby's Bank and walking up a farm track which climbs steeply up and across the bridleway path and continuing north on a quad bike track to the summit. Only a short walk but a little steep and what a view .

My second visit, same route as previously. Parked in the Alwinton P&D car park and walked W past Barrow Mill before taking the grassy track up Green Side before diverting off it at 340m contour and heading over occasionally tussocky moorland to the TP. The grassy track is considerately easy-angled to aid the slightly-out-of-condition Trig-Point Bagger...Glad to see the TP is in no worse shape now than it was 4 years ago, it does however look rather precarious and that it could collapse at any point. Grey clouds were closing in from the west, though to the south Linsheils Lake glinted in sunshine. This is a fine view point with cracking views over the Otterburn Ranges, Simonside Hills and the Border Ridge. I could revisit this one any number of times and not tire of the views.

Linbrig more than made up for the underwhelming experience of Burradon Mains TP, 4 miles away! It holds a commanding position at the Alwinton end of Coquetdale with superb 360 views. Parked at the Alwinton P&D car park and walked a mile or so down the road into Coquetdale, before passing through a metal gate and following a good grassy track that looped and zig-zagged up the south east slopes of Green Side Hill and eventually ends at the small stone cairn of Lords Seat. A short diversion west at about 360m aiming for a rocky knoll and after crossing a pretty rubbish wire fence the TP is situated in a grand airy location. Continuing the walk NE along an ATV track to Lords Seat just 3 metres higher is definitely worth the effort.

Last maintained by the OS in August 1978. SITE VISIT: Approached from SSE. Parked on verge by dungheap at NT904064 only to find later that there is a parking bay less then 200m to the east. North up mapped track from NT903064 which leads to open grazing top. Pillar severed near top but still in one piece following the reinstatement work. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces southeast, compass measurement 49°. Front sight hole open, others plugged. GPS reading spot on. Views to Shillhope Law, Bloodybush Edge and many tops to the southern aspect still to be identified from the photos.

The evidence remains as a huge crack around the middle. It remains worse for wear and I felt quite sorry for it, especially as it hadn't been logged for 4 years! Some good views to the higher tops of Coquetdale but not today due to very low cloud and rain. Flush bracket intact.
