Followed the path north going to the right hand path. Follow the path between the trees through the golf course and over the rise. Trig at the top of a fairway looking north to Glasgow.

Bus no 4 from Glasgow Ciry Centre stops at the entrance to Linn Park at NS 5791 5905 and also the start of the Magnificent 11 Walk. That walk doesn't take in this trig point so I did my own Terrific Three Trigs walk, this being the first. LinnPark seems to be the destination for "Professional" dog walkers and as well as the 3 trigs I had 3 close (in that they jumped up at me) encounters with dogs of varying sizes, whilst their owners or walkers made ineffectual (or in one case) no attempt to stop them . Hence the quotations marks. That aside and despite blustery rain showers it was a good walk and the views were amazing fromthe trig point although the higher hills were obscured. I failed to notice whether the tri point was damaged. Impression was that it was in good condition. From this 1 st trig I headed on to Windlaw TP with only one small section of road (and one short section of dumped matresses, sofas et al)

Approached from east through Linn Park, over bridge and along footpath then trying to keep heading east, uphill through a field where a zig zag path crosses back and forth. Through gap in south east corner of field at the top, through the trees, golf course on other side of trees, then pillar is slightly downhill from the highest point. Good views to north and east. Raised S prefix. Chipped on one edge at the top. Someone has left a stuffed toy on the top.

An easy walk through the NW side of Linn Park from 4th tee up to the top of the golf course. Today, far more dog walkers than golfers. The replacement (plastic) cap has some damage. Fine views across Glasgow to the mountains.

7th daily visit. Local trig, easily accessible from any direction. Original cap missing and replaced with a 3D-printed one by Descartes1 (thanks!). Looks like someone's stuck a screwdriver through it though. Slight damage to west-facing top edge, but otherwise in good condition. View was previously blocked by small trees, but these were cleared in spring '17, and trig now offers great views on a clear day over the Campsies and (from N to NW) 60+ km to Ben More/Stob Binnein and Ben Venue, Beinn Tulaichean, Cruach Ardrain, Stob a' Choinn, Beinn a' Chroin, An Caisteal, and Ben Lomond peeking out to the north-west. Previously visited: 30/10/2015, 08-13/04/2021.

Slightly damaged trig atop Linn Park Golf Course. Trig in generally good condition with a lump out of the top surface at the end of a spider arm. FB faces south-ish with north-ish sighthole open only. The stand of trees immediately to the north have been removed opening up the views. Superb views north now. Cap was missing, so I've recapped it with a new PLA cap.

From the track to the north.. Darkness trig by golf tee. Plug open... florescent yellow golf ball about 4 inches down in it. Eilean McAloon's NHS nurses Badge left on top.. Bapit quine..!!

As I approached the pillar a lone golfer asked me what I was doing. Naturally I said It was visiting the pillar. He just humpted. At least I wasn't playing gold on my own.

One of the easiest points to find in Glasgow. The scenery in autumn is stunning and the view from the point spans the whole of the city.

Log #202. Early finish from work, so popped up to this one on my way home. Parked at the golf club car park to the NNE and followed the obvious track up. The trig is on your right as you walk up towards the green, in a small copse of trees. View immediately north of the pillar is blocked, but there is a decent view over the city on the walk back down. 10 minute round trip tops. Cap is missing, and very slight damage to one spider arm. [ExP-162/MiP-6/Rev-2/BM-12/IS-17/Other-3]

Good condition pillar on Linn Park golf course. FB faces south-ish with the north-ish sighthole open only. Good-sized chip at the end of one spider arm but otherwise vgc. Cap missing and no plug. View from the trig itself a bit limited due to a stand of trees in front of it. Round the other side of those, though, excellent expansive views north to Earl's Seat, Dumbreck, Duncolm, Meikle Bin, Holehead.

Pleasant walk up through the trees from the waterfall on White Cart Water. Better than expected view.

Third visit. For photographs and GPS reading. SITE VISIT: Pillar in good condition (will check photos). Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces due south, ~180°. Vented through north sight hole. Tree coverage made GPS reception poor hence the measurement obtained.

Near hidden under an impressively large tree, corners chipped, spider intact, plug has since gone missing with only North sight open. Terribly wet day kept the swingers in the Clubhouse.

Decent condition for an urban pillar, only a few chips round the edges. I guess being hidden in the trees on a golf course helps.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 6th March 1946 costing £7.12s.10d. In 1947 this marker was completed for triangulation as tertiary station NS77/T132 in the Glasgow secondary block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1967. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in September 1971. OS archive has S3668. Golf course. Part of my 40 mile walk of the day.

Played golf here as a kid.I`d sit on it while waiting my turn to tee off on the 2nd hole.Never knew what it was in they days but I liked it :)
