From the Hause, parking for about 3 cars, definitely not 16 minutes to summit for me. Path takes you all the way to the trigpoint. Despite the weather some good views. Nice wee hill.

Light showers on and off but a pleasant circular stroll from Watermillock church. The hills all around were lost in a grey haze and were just silhouettes. A day off from the journey up to Scotland.

Fantastic walk over from Gowbarrow - a twitchers paradise, saw so many species of birds and also spotted my first ever red squirrel too. Quite a steep, but not long, ascent up this smaller fell, sloppy going today. Pillar is another effort of local stone in good condition. I gave the FB a wash down with the moat that is surrounding the trig, giving it its green tint back at least temporarily. Love this spot, very peaceful and splendid panorama. Definitely one to return to. Oh - and my 75th recorded pillar, target for 2022 met!

A very quiet and secluded area of the Lakes that gets missed for the higher and more popular hills. It is a Wainwright so I have been here before. A typical stone pillar in excellent condition. Walked the dog after leg 2 of a BGR and lunch in Threlkeld. I am gifting to the team work involved (Threlkeld to Dunmail). Everything went like clockwork and we bought her in 9 mins up on schedule. * needed since finished 23.56 hrs. Nail biting *

Came here deliberately for a post Christmas walk in lovely sunshine, a nice sprinkling of fresh snow on the ground and great views of the majestic Blencathra. Got all of the above. According to my walking notes the last time I was here was in May '94 when the kids were under 5. All our yesterdays.

Good parking at NY423235. Nice little hill with superb 360 views and a clear day. Traditional stone pillar. Plug/cap removed and filled but partly hollowed out again. All other metal intact. A fine little summit to finish of two days of Wainwright bagging.

Parked in small lay bye on road near the Hause. Through gate on footpath through very muddy area to edge of hill. Steep climb up to trig point but boy is it worth it. Great clear views from the top.

We came to climb the higher hills, but the weather was against us. However we had a short clear gap on the top of Little Mell and on a little effort to excellent view ratio, it scores very well.

Parked South of pillar in handy layby by start of PROW.Quite a steep pull up to pillar too. Stone built pillar in good nick, no sight holes open, concrete cap with hole in it. Cracking views from pillar, unlike the earlier Gowbarrow Fell.

Bagged this trig like most other people up and down from the road, earlier that day we bagged Great Mell Fell and that morning we did a 9 mile walk on Souther Fell, Bannerdale Crags and Bowscale Fell. Next onto Gowbarrow Fell.

Lovely hill, Marilyn top, a little bit of Shropshire or the north Cheviots dropped next to the gloomy crags.

We're in the middle of blue skies with our own high swirl of cloud above, at our sides heavy grey sends a long circle from Lake District across the Eden to North Pennine, petering out a little over the Solway. Reminds me of days on Islay and Mull whilst cloud whirled off higher mountains on the mainland

Perhaps not the pillar I'd have chosen for my 500th but the walk up from The Hause in a gale force wind was as hard as any I can remember! Visited on circular walk taking in Gowbarrow Fell. Abandoned idea of Great Mell & slunk back along road past Ulcat Row to car park!

Staying nearby at Land Ends so went for an early morning run up the neighbouring hills of Great Mell Fell and Little Mell Fell. Might not be up there with the "big" hills, but sometimes that makes these outliers all the more special.

Nice space to park at the side of the road. Then a canny steep hill to walk up. But well worth it for the clear views from the top.

Bit Annoyed to find someone standing on the pillar when I arrived and he was there for 5 mins or so, despite my obvious efforts to photograph it. Chilled out in the sun for a few until he'd gone #grumpy :)

Parked at Aira Force and followed path around south of Gowbarrow Fell to the Hause and popped up the hill. Had a 15 minute nap at the pillar and then returned via Ulcat Row.

A nice stone trig point. Baged on an evening strioll with the family on hols. Lots of ticks for this one as its a Marilyn, Dewy and Wainwright plus a cache.

Not a good day to be out. Struggled up Great Mell Fell and gave up after Little Mell Fell. Wind up to 70mph I could hardly stand up. Gowbarrow Fell will have to wait for another day.

Parking for a few cars on SE side of widened road at NY423235. Follow RoW to access land, then direct route up to top. Stone built pillar in good condition. Spider had tar plug, now broken open. Flush bracket faces 43° NE. Vented through SW sight hole. Pillar completed 28th June 1952 costing £23.13s.0d. Panoramic view to surrounding Fells.

Bagged this Wainwright and trig returning from Penrith to our hostel in Glenridding on a damp and dreary day, but some views still to be had from the summit, especially across to Great Mell Fell and to the north over the plain and the A66 and towards Blencathra - always a visual treat from any angle. Trig pillar has been built from local stone, always very pleasing to see, and is in good condition.

Wish we had come up here a day earlier, we were not as fortunate with the weather as Mr. T P Bagger was ! Rather misty here today but still worth the climb. Mr A. Wainwright, in his book The Eastern Fells, considers Little Mell Fell hardly worth a mention, but it is interesting to note that it is almost exactly twice the altitude of the highest point in our home county of Kent.

A glorious September morning with blue sky and just a few 'cotton wool' clouds and a fantastic 360 degree view. It could only be 10 out of 10 - a score I have never given before but this was really heaven on earth after our abysmal summer!

I'd hoped to hit 2000 on conival this Saturday but the run in the SW left me one short last night. A quick look on the maps and this leapt out at me as a good candidate so en route to Carlisle from kendal took int he short detour to make this typical lakeland stone trig the magic number. Nice walk up on a clear track from a pull in by the reservoir. nice and warm with good if hazy views
