A brake in journey to Llanwrtyd Wells, parking on side of open access land to SW of pillar hill. Nice route up through heather clad hillside, picking up route of LDWA 2007 mid-Wales 100 before diverting off to pillar. Sunny and crisp in first cold winds of winter with great view south over The Roundabout to the northern escarpment of the Black Mountains- Cats Back to Mynydd Troed. Looped around to return much the same way. Now on to mid-Wales beer festival and Real Ale Ramble.
