Parked on grass just down from house. Quick jog up for a snap and back down. Top third showing. Think I need to buy some snips for these ones in hedges all the time, may carry a strimmer with me.

Parked near house and PROW to access this one. Just about 100m from roadside. Checked if okay to leave car opposite house. Gent said fine and his noisy beagles kept an eye on us as we left! Trig in a hedge as like so many and used the nearby ladder to step across and up to this one. You'll know what I mean if you visit this one (see pics)! Flush Bracket, Spider and cap all in place.

Approached from the north. Trig needed a trim, so got out the secateurs to cut the nasty hawthorn and brambles back and open up the pillar again.

Parked across the road from a modern look house named Pen-banc on the map. Short walk on RoW to trig, then on to St David's church for the benchmark on S side of a very overgrown eponymous IA hill fort. Pillar sits on a large concrete plinth at the terminus of a banked field boundary, a little overgrown but not badly so. Original cap has been retained, raised lettering; rear sight hole open. Good views S and E.

Quick bag on way home from Fishguard. Easy parking by gate. Couldnt reach the pillar due to nettles, brambles, etc but its clearly visible. No views but the one in the opposite direction to the parking is a cracker, north. Having problems downloading photos on this site lately, very annoying!

This was the most exciting find of the day. I am making gardening gloves (pink of course) and secateurs part of my kit from now on if I remember!) as hubby inadvertently challenged me. He said ' we will never get a pic of the spider'. Ha ha you must be joking. In I went and starting moving the brambles and then I was given a stick and that was it - pics to prove that trig was nicely cleared and you better go bag it before it gets overgrown again....later on I pulled a thorn out of my hand which was another ouch to go along with the other scratches and nettle stings of the day. GREAT FUN :-)

At the described location. Parking in open gateway gives easy access to the field which is more than can be said for the pillar. Very much now part of the hedged making access very painful and difficult. Should have come a couple of days later when the 'gardeners' had been!

It is worth walking along the footpath for another few 100 yards after the trigpoint. This will bring you to Llanddewi Gaer. This is an Iron Age inland promontory fort. Massive defences 52m wide.
