The pillar is highly visible but needs some 'creativity' to access it. I parked on the road to the east and asked at Hillis if I could do a visit. Pillar not actually on their land but happy to point out a way up through gateways to follow tractor track up to the pillar. Everything in good order and still has an original plug. Some nice views from this elevated location.

We parked on the unfenced road to the north but access wasn't as straightforward as we'd hoped because the intermediate field had plenty of black cows and calves in it but also a very large black bull. We skirted around to the east and reached the trig via a couple of barbed wire fences - OK for the adults, but a bit more difficult for Nico and Ellie, two eleven year olds who have caught the trigging bug. Excellent views of the Black Mountains. Plug with indented lettering.
