Parked near the roundabout at the junction of the A4174 and A431. Wide gap between houses to head west and uphill. Expected to be a straightforward find. Aimed for field beyond mast and high point but no sign of pillar. Looking again at map decided it had to be in the hedge line to the west of the open ground. Mistaken in thinking it would come into view on the hedge line. Turned south, looked into next field, walked north, no sign. Started to feel I had misread the map. Overcast so difficult to get bearings. Checked detailed map on here. Followed hedge line from east side. After about one hundred and fifty metres reached a stile into the field to the west then followed the hedge line south. After about a hundred metres spotted pillar in hedge on other side of a barbed wire fence. One strand of the barbed wire had been cut which made access a little easier although there were quite a lot of brambles and scratchy bushes next to the pillar. Tidied up a bit. Cap plugged. Raised S prefix. Views to west. It looked like Concorde was visible in the distance towards the north west, would make sense, that’s probably Filton. Worth extra point. Will try and get a closer look one day.

Parked in Wickes CP Walked uphill west to the bridge over the dual carriageway. Footpath left, south, down the side of sunken dual carriageway. Then south east through gate up two fields and after ignoring further stile into next fuels go south along the WNW side of second field for 20 metres or so.. dense deep hedge where it sits visible, with a bit of barbie in front of it.

Accessible from the footpath from the north east, no need to scramble through the hedge.

Accessible via a stile although my fully grown Boxer dog was able to squeeze through the bushes to the side. However be aware there are horses in the field. The trig is just beging a barbed wire fence. Nice surrounding area for a dog walk.

Parked in the side road by the roundabout and walked up Hooper's Walk by the new houses. Easy stroll across the fields and over a muddy stile round to the trig, imprisoned behind a barbed wire fence. Superb view across Bristol from up here. Not such a superb view on the ground, though - lots of dog mess bags strewn around the place.

Located in a horse field overlooking the Ring Road.Parked in Lidl car park crossed the road.Turned right on to Hoopers Walk.Left past a playground.Then right into a field.We then went up through the field.Turned right in to the second field Followed the hedge around until we came across a gate.Then turned left and followed the hedge until we found the Trig on the left.

#6 'trig' of the trip. #3 pillar of the trip. Not on the list for today but spotted after we found a Lidl to stock up on provisions for the weekend. Looked relatively easy on the map! If only we’d read the log about a stile instead of crawling on hands and knees through hedge!!!! Very friendly horses in trig field.

With thejackrustles. Awful route. In pitch dark, under two barbed wire fences, through thick jaggy hedge. Discovered lots of blood on hands and legs when got back to lit up area! Horses in field very friendly.

Parked in the Homebase carpark. And walked up FP to access the trig. No horses in the field. Trig has nice new coat of white paint. Good views to W. Got my self some bargains from Homebase as it was closing down and some stuff was 70% off.

Parked in retail park and walked the footpath beside the A341 Very muddy today . Trig in hedge just off footpath. Were 'butted'by some friendly horses (well, think they were friendly!)

Dartmoor Deliverer and I were geocaching in area and luckily she earpiece this trig point on her GPS mapping, whereas I was using my iPad which uses street mapping which although good doesn't show trig points which I find frustrating! Trig point easily found in hedge and number was very helpfully facing the field so no clambering under the fence to gain the number for a change! Good condition with spider intact, and good views over the Bristol suburbs.

Pillar fairly easy to find once on the correct side of the bush. It is beginning to get overgrown, views from pillar are good.

Pleasant part of Bristol / S Glos. Parking on cul de sac at ST 65492 71435 for walk up the 'dog-walkers' hill. Pillar only accessible form W side of hedgerow, bit tricksie finding a way through, found a stile eventually appox 70m NNE of trig. Pillar found with reasonably substantial chipping to top edges, hence classifying as 'slightly damaged'. Cap missing, asphalt plug; all sight holes open (including the awkward rear hole - no secateurs to trim back the thorn!); BSM-style FB. Overlooking hospital and residential housing, but too foggy this morning to see much.

A rainy day so a muddy walk up to this one. The pillar is just in the same field that the footpath crosses so very easy to access. The horses were not bothered. At least three of the sight holes are open but I didn't check the one facing the hedge. There is slight damage to top edges, but still generally good.

Short deviation from ROW. Pillar sits behind barbed wire fence at ESE side of grass field. FB faces WNW; ?Tarmac plug; all sightholes open. Horseshoes no longer present on top of pillar! Good views of east Bristol suburbs. Position logged from GPS device accurate to ±5m.

Note to self: Don't go trigpointing in a hail storm without waterproof trousers. Walked up from the farm, round the field adjacent to the trig and nipped over the stile to find the trig, plenty of well trodden paths. Would have been quite a nice view if it wasn't for the gale force winds and hail coming up the the Bristol channel. Nice enough views over Bristol and beyond.

Next to a hawthorn hedge in a field grazed by horses on the edge of a flat summit, it was once painted white, the spider and asphalt plug appear to have been whitewashed and it has BsM 3356. It looks westward over downtown Bristol to Dundry Down. From the other side of the hedge the line of the Cotswolds from Kelston Round Hill to Hanging Hill can be seen.

Parked just off the A431 near Mount Pleasant Farm followed the footpath up the hill. The pillar is hidden on this approach, it can be found on the other side of a hedge.

We parked at B&Q and then walked up the A431 until we found the footpath sign. This one is painted white so it's easy to spot when you climb over two stiles in quick succession. It's between a hedge and a barbed wire fence. Good views over Cadbury Heath. Tarmac plug.

I'm writing this in Aug 2018 having just dug out some old maps and found notes on a few trigs I did 20+ years ago before I even realised this site existed! It was Xmas Eve and I was staying at my mother-in-law's. My map notes say, "Parked near Banham Ct then ran up hill. Found it eventually after a wrong turn. Had to read map without specs and with rain blurring the poly bag! Views S & E obscured somewhat by the weather."

I saw this from my bedroom about 3 miles distant, standing out painted bright white. Always wondered what they were. I had in my mind all the triangles were the same shape ( for some reason this made perfect sense ). Visited many many times whilst on cross country running in later years at school.
