Short walk across heather moorland from car park to the west, or the parish boundary can be followed largely negating the need to disturb ground nesting birds. Pillar seems to be either sinking, although it's not tilting, or there's a substantial build up of moorland around it - ground level is now part way up the FB. There is also considerable damage to the structure of the pillar. Centre cap missing, replaced with asphalt plug; not possible to determine sight hole conditions without a lot of digging. Extensive panoramic heather moorland views.

It has also sunk into the surrounding bog to the point where almost all the flush bracket is submerged. Parked at the large layby and stalked up through the patchy heather. Despite its poorly condition, some kind soul has very recently given it a coat of paint. I had to bail furiously to reveal the FB number but no chance of a picture. This one needs some major engineering works to salvage!

The moors take on a vast perspective from here, beautiful yet foreboding especially with the current extreme fire risk. Still after a detour to camp at Goathland, journey end now beckons for the Bay to Bay pioneers.

Dear me this one is in a bad way. There are chunks out of it and most of one corner is missing Also either its slowly disappearing into the morass or its considerably shorted than other trigs! Its also leaning over. Much water had to be shifted to get a glimpse of the plate number, but it was a hopeless task trying to get a pic with the number exposed.

Oh dear. What a sorry state this one is in. Must be the worse condition I have seen a Trig Point in so far. One corner crumbling and the whole Trig sinking into the boggy moor. Flush bracket only just visible above the ground/water. I agree with the previous logs in that the damage at least shows you what this style of Trig Point is made of.

A tough and hard slog in the rain, heading from Trough House. Went up to my knee in one bog. Always worth it in the end though! Flush bracket under water. How can a "summit" also be a sponge?

Found after walking up from our cottage in the dale, via GC9769. Big chunk missing - still it enabled us to see what a trig is made of! Ground is pretty boggy hereabouts but good views when the mists lift.
