Parked at side of church then followed track up the hill to the end of the houses then took the comms track passing the remains of the windmill. Trig in good condition with all its metal work sat in the field edge line near the comms tower

Stopped in village of Ludworth up a side road to the north. Had a look for a lane up to the mast but there was a closed gate across it. Walked around the perimeter of the field, north then east. Pillar in hedge about 100 metres east of the mast compound. Farmland views to south. Spider and cap in place. Walked back to bike along east side of field past an abandoned farm house and disused mill.

Circular walk from Ludford to full un-walked gap in Viking Way between Biscathorpe Church and crossroads east of Ludford. Parked in Ludford and made diversion first to visit trig which is now well hidden in hedge. Doesn't appear to be any access issues despite not being on rights of way.

Another easy to cycle to trig. After leaving the main road I went up Red Hill and then took path behind the red gates. I met a bloke with a lab called Max so it seems to be a well used path with the public. Went past the tower and trig is by the side of the track. All looks well with it. Went back the same way I came to get to big road and past Max again. This is my PAL Trig as its number 625 (same as lines in old time analogue PAL TV transmission system)

(72) Parked up next to the closed down (or 'now retired' as the sign says) Black Horse Inn pub, and walked down the lane with the chapel on the corner. At the bottom I saw a chap walking his dog, and so I asked about visiting the pillar. He and another chap said it would be OK. Pleasant walk up the field with good views. A few folks was out jogging, so even though it's not on a ROW this path seems to be readily used. The hedge is trying to claim the pillar, but apart from that everything seems to be in very good condition. REVISIT 18.10.20 A bit of Sunday driving brings me back to this one, which gave me chance to grab a GR for it. Took a different route this time - up along the side of the church, passed the empty buildings/houses and then up to the pillar - which was even more swallowed up by the hedge that last time. Pillar history: Built on the 29th of November 1956, at a cost of £21 12s 1d. Last maintained by the OS in January of 1981.

Parked in village near closed down pub, then walked up lane past chapel towards Red Hill. Where the footpath goes right continue forward but on the east side of the hedge to pass Red Hill on old track round to mast and trig.

Drove up lane, wish I hadn't as it quickly turned into a rough track. Parked up near cottage along the way, owner said it was ok as it wasn't blocking farmer's access; told me to walk towards radio mast which I did and walked past the trig. Found it well hidden in the hedge, views all round.

Drove up farm track a mistake no right of way,as i parked up irate farmer arrived to lecture us on ownership of land.When he calmed down he offered us some of the berries he had been picking.Parked lower down and walked up inside track to mast,pillar a little further on in hedge.

(138) parked near church just off main road and walked uppast the village green complete with its own stocks followed track past cottages towards mast, pillar located in amongst the hedgeline, reasonable views.

Joint visit with Carole. Easily accessed and even though in a hedge at this time of the year quite visible. We used the car park in Ludford although could have drive up the track for quite a way. Not actually on a right of way but farm tracks lead directly to the pillar. Everything in good order. Has an original raised lettering plug.

Approached from the footpath via Sledge Hill and spoke to the friendly resident, but he is not the landowner. However, it avoided any concerns about strangers walking past his cottage. He knew about the pillar and was interested to learn that people log them! GR to 10m only.
