Not that far from the gate, flush bracket fortunately on the only accessible side (bramble 'hedge' - adjoining proper hedge now somewhat covers the pillar. Retains plug. Still has plastic covered bales to rear. Some views from locality of pillar.

In farmyard, trapped on 3 sides by silage bales, wooden fencing and hedgerow and then there's the brambles! Cleared some. Pillar generally in good condition, with small piece of screed chipped away from one top corner; original cap in place, deeply indented lettering; possibly all sight holes sealed, rear a bit awkward to get to so it may be open.

Had to visit twice. First time, couldn't find TP. Field was exceptionally muddy. Visited three months later, after checking the photos. Field still very muddy, even after a couple of dry weeks. TP almost completely covered in brambles, but in excellent condition with FB and plug intact. As I was leaving, the landowner appeared and told me he had not been able to get onto the field to cut the hedge because the ground was so wet.

The pillar has a metal plug with heavily indented letters and FB S5861, it is sited in the corner of the compound of a barn that was storing green plastic shrink wrapped bales. To the south the wooded hillside of Nettlecombe Tout can be seen; to the southeast Bulbarrow.
