Asked at clubhouse and given a lift in a golf buggy upto the pillar.

Parked in golf club car park. Thought it would be polite to ask in the clubhouse if it would be ok to walk to the pillar. A member directed me to the foot path about one hundred meters north of the entrance, saying that was the only public access point. Quite a few golfers about. After crossing a couple of fairways wanted to get to higher ground to south. Walked beside one hole by a line of trees then spotted the pillar. A group of three golfers walked by onto the nearby tee. I greeted them and carried on getting a couple of shots. Walking back they spoke to me, said I was heading back to the footpath, they didn’t seem too happy I had strayed from it. Good views to east. Spider and cap in place. Vegetation cut back.

Luckily hedgerow has been chopped right back by golf course staff so now easy to see unlike my first visit earlier in the year.

5 of 8 hiking the Jurassic Coast. Golf course full of golfers but just walked up to the trig as bold as brass and jumped up to it through the brambles - got some funny looks but just smiled and waved :-)

In thick tall hedgerow on the gold course, could only spot the top 50cm and did not get to the bracket.

Not the best explore of the south, at last the weather breaks, the cliffs shrouded and that's after the grimness of trying to travel around Exeter. Then we go looking in the wrong hedge - nettles and some kind of sump - and then by a pretty little seashell path there it is. How we laughed, apparently good views, apparently.

Walked up from Lyme Regis entered Golf Course via South West Coat Path entrance, followed the white stones to the hedge highest point (Timber Hill) due south of Trig point (SY 34862 93542)

Dramatic cliff top course, apparently one of the finest in the South West. Permission readily given (and even a buggy was offered) to walk up to the trig. Located on a raised boundary hedgerow with bramble and saplings etc encroaching. Cleared a lttle. Original cap in place, lightly indented lettering; LHD sight hole below ground level now, other 3 holes sealed.

Met up with Dusty & PK on way to triggers w/end. Parked in golf club car park then walked out onto rd & re-entered on public foot path then followed hedge line to pillar. Observing golf etiquette of course!!

Fork to Lyme Regis. Had a few chats with golfers who were trying to direct us to the path over the course until we explained we needed to see the Trig. Having visited we walked on to Lyme but the weather was so poor it put paid to us finding several other trigs in the area.

Mixed reception from members at club, one saying not allowed to go up to pillar, another giving me directions to follow hedge up to the 9th tee then turn left along another hedge. Decided to follow the latter's advice. Pillar on top of hedge bank.

Golfers polite and cheerful. The club has looked after this pillar carefully. No damage I could see following hedge cutting, all present and correct.

Waited until late in the day and asked permission at club golf shop. They were most helpful and granted access. Pillar located on top of a typical west country hedge amid tree growth. Somewhat overgrown. Retains plug.

This one is off the public footpath at the end of a hedge line. It's covered in ivy and we walked straight past it before we were very politely challenged by a woman golfer who asked us if we were lost. We explained what we were doing and then she and her friends helped us to find it. Metal plug with lightly indented lettering.
