This was close to Brechin High School where there are extensive building works going on. The pillar is set on a piece of scrubby grassland just a few hundred yards from the A90, and very close to the former Forfar to Brechin railway, part of which is now a footpath running behind the school. All sight holes closed; no cap.

On the edge of a housing estate in Brechin, visited as part of the TGO Challenge. How long this one will remain intact is hard to guess, with the houses so close.

Plug gone, what with a school just down the road! So has the concrete replacement. Corner chipped. The future is interesting for this one, Brechin is growing out to the bypass, new houses are close, and it will not be long until they build here. Will someone get a garden feature or will it join the ranks of blue meanies. Watch this space.

Maison Dieu Brechin is getting ever closer.

Pillar completed 2nd March 1950. Tertiary station in Block NO89. Trig pillar in good condition, but too near civilisation to retain an OS centre cap. Flush bracket faces southwest. On the outskirts of Brechin. Nearby trig pillar, COOKSTON (S6010 completed 10/03/1950, destroyed 09/1974) gave way to what is now the A90. Sites visited 19/08/1998, GRP.
