Walked up the track past Mannoch Cottage to eventually arrive at the shooting bothy. The last K was over trackless bog with floundary heather which was reasonably dry. Also took in the nearby Hump. Nice warm weather.

Parked at the ruin of Mannoch Cottage and walked up the good but very water logged track to the shooting hut and took a direct rough across the path less boggy heather with knee deep holes to the trigpoint. Great views all round apart from the the windfarm of course.

Log #168. Parked just south of Mannoch Cottage, and followed the track until the shooting bothy. From there, it's a bit of a trudge for 1km over the heather and moss to the pillar. Good 360* views, but there are literally 100+ wind turbines visible. I beat TJR to a Moray trig point! [ExP-140/MiP-3/Rev-2/BM-11/IS-10/Other-2]

Parked where track crosses road to north of Cardhu then by cycle north on good track past ruins of Mannoch Cottage to hut used by shooting parties. Leave cycle for walk over the superb near tundra landscape of spongy moss, green grey lichen, short heather, the wind bowed blades of dry grass and scattered stunted pines. Only the slowly turning blades of the wind farm to the north detract from the wilderness. Fine views in all directions.

Vented through southmost sight hole. 360° panoramic view includes many prominent Sutherland tops across the Moray Firth, and the Cairngorms to the south.

vgc, no cap or plug. Flat heathery summit, overlooking wind farm; scattered pine trees. From S, roughish track past ruined cottage, then a pull-in: was flooded beyond. Walking fairly easy at first, becoming spongy near summit. Desolate view.

I walked over from Hunt hill to this one, around four miles each way. The worst part is the last half mile or so, heavy going through heather and a peat bog. The bothy was used for grouse shooting, half rough shed and half pine lined for the shooting party, I passed a line of butts on the way up to the trig, built Victorian times by the look of them, not seen much use lately, although I did see half a dozen grouse. Cracking views to the sea and of the new windmill farm!

The trig and FB Great view although not sure about the windmills!
