The undergrowth has been cleared away and the pillar is resplendent in a new coat of white paint, although the top has not been painted for some reason. From the east, it must be visible for miles. The pillar is in good condition although the centre plug has been removed. The view west is totally obscured by woodland, the other directions are fine, particularly to the east when on a clear day you can see for miles. Today, however was very hazy.
