Not on the OS map but nonetheless there...Roadside parking at GR 37217 21088 'pulled-in' close to the wall enclosing some houses. Short road walk West then left up the embankment via a faint indent at GR 37090 21042. Continuing onto a ramshackle hut & field, access to the trig beginning with a 'walking of the plank' is but a short distance away. Consequence of close proximity to housing & the necessity to traverse a cropped field, accessing this trig 'felt' very trespassy!

Another seemingly tricky pillar to access that was anything but - the only problem we had was parking. Croft Head Lane is too narrow to even pass another vehicle, let alone park, so we ended up a few streets away and walked in. The pillar is clearly visible at the highest point of a huge, open field - there are no fences or walls, and for the first 50 yards the field is just grass. After this, it looked like grass but it was planted in rows it seemed, so for the sake of caution we stuck to the tramlines to avoid trampling it, and they took us to within a few strides of the pillar. It commands a great position, with fine views, but is a bit scruffy looking with a replacement cap and yellow paint on the FB number. We returned the same way, sticking to the tramlines until reaching the grass and then the lane. Pillar #85 for my little trigbagger.

An existing pillar that is not shown on my 1:25000 map. However, it is there and at this time - after the cereal crop has been harvested - quite easy to reach with a bit of field trespass. The pillar is then highly visible been in the centre of a large cultivated field. I parked in a large parking area in the minor road to the north, just before the old railway/river bridge. I then used the enclosed footpath heading south. Once it opens up it is easy to cross into the filed and climb up the hill to the pillar. Everything in good order except that the original plug has been replaced by an asphalt one. Some nice views from this elevated location.
