I seem to be making a habit of having a few hours to spare whilst in a city on a beautiful day so today I managed a walk to 2 trigpoints, mainly on green pathways, this being the 1st. My route took me from Byres Road area through the Botanic Gardens, along the Kelvin Way to this TP, which is very accessible and had good views to the Campsies. Cap gone but otherwise in good condition. After visiting this one I continued to High Possil Wood TP3802.

From Balmuidy I walked along the footpath of the River Kelvin which was predictably muddy. Oh why did I wear a pair of summery white trousers today? Later I arrived at Partick Thistle's ground in a muddied & bloodied state (and not for the first time at a football ground). The pillar still retains its cap with deep indented lettering, and two & a half sight-holes open. Really enjoyable rambling, trigging, football day.

First visit. To record FB number. Trig 12 of 12 for the day. Anti-clockwise walking route starting and finishing at Glasgow Queen Street station. The pillar was completed 28th February 1946 costing 4.0s.1d. In 1947 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NS77/T101 in the Glasgow secondary block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1969. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in November 1971. Public park. It was dark by the time I got here.
