Seen from the nearby public footpath during a Tuesday Walking Lads outing. Wheat in field so didn't approach closer. Lovely spot, calls for a winter return.

Had just visited Upton Cressett Normandy church and Manor House with CherryBubb and had to come a view this Trig before leaving. Parked south of the trig at the start of the footpath and walked the edge of fields most of the way until the trig and water tower were immediately to my left and then walked off piste directly to the trig. I was now out of view of any buildings or windows. Trig was in remarkably good condition - one of the best I have come across to date. Good views of Abdon Burf (Brown Clee) and Titterstone. First to visit in over a year.

should have a super view ...but the water tower blocks the clee hill aspect. shame. no issues getting to using field margins.. 3 deer spotted me before I spotted them. A large solar farm has sprung up nearby though cant be seen from the pillar.

Just as I got to the pillar, I heard the sound of a quad. (Great timing - 'oh shit!' I thought). The farmer rounded the concrete tank and looked very surprised to see me. I was taking photos and waved like I belonged there. He waved back and carried on rounding up the sheep. The weather was dreadful and perhaps he thought I must be too mad to bother with. I am thinking, there must be a great view of Wenlock Edge and Perhaps, the Wrekin from here? Not today. First snowy trig. Walked back to The Down via the JMW.

There are three pillars in the area yet to do, but after three days based at Clun YHA, and the previous days exertions, I decided on a fairly direct way home and just take in this one. Started on bridleway from Aston Eyre which became impassable in wood. Back tracked and walked up field to where a double wire fence gave access through hedge into next field. then gate and wheel tracks through barley field to pillar by small reservoir.

Approached from Meadowly along the bridleway to the east and then was aided in my search by the fact that the field had been newly ploughed. The trig is OK; original plug with slightly-indented letters. Traces of paint around the top area and on top of the flanks. N sitehole open, others closed. Good allround agricultural views.
