Walked up and down along track to the mast. Parked on lay-by area of road approx 200m from start of track. In hindsight would have been possible to drive up to the mast and then walk the last bit. Don't know how often vehicles access the site. I was going to make it circular and return via Polbain, but the cloud had come down and wasn't sure ok the route so thought it best to return the way I came on the Mast track which was easy walking. The mist was down when I did this trig, but imagine from being in the area the previous day that the views would be great.

Followed the Peat Road from Polbain / Blair. Sign posted on the track where to cut back in and skirt Lochan Dubh and on to Meall a' Chaisteil. Path is a bit vague in places. From here there is a distinguished path up the south side of the hill to the masts and trig. Back down along the tar track and back to Polbain along the road. .

Having just been on Stac Pollaidh we felt the need to head to the nearest trig. Approached from Polbain, nice easy walk up to the trig. Views were just spectacular, Suilven basking in afternoon sun. I am giving this a 9 because you don't have to be 916m + to be knocked over by stunning scenery. The Highlands at its absolute best. TP, plug removed but all other metal work intact including the mast - unfortunately!!

I logged this with totally the wrong date and info. I thought I had walked to it on the way to my last ever JMT work party on Tanera Mor The family who owned Tanera Mor have now sold it to a private individual and there doesn't appear to be a place for JMT volunteers in his plans to turn it into a luxury retreat. My memory was wrong, it was a couple of years before my last visit and I was leaving Tanera Mor. Uncovering a photo revealed my mistake. Good views from this low lying pillar. Situation marred by the masts but we want good mobile reception so we can't hjave it all ways.
