Presuimably replaced The Denes rivet, as they have identical GRs. OS Sketch seems to be missing, but some good measurements from previous loggers made this easy to locate... digging it out from the footpath was a little awkward given the passing footfall! I timed it between people and managed to get the photos done, backfilled and stamped down without inconveniencing anyone... I hope! Standard 1" bolt in concrete block.

2.1m from kerb. 2.7m from marker rivet. Rivet is not inline with block. 5cm deep 1" bolt and concrete base still has its original yellow and white paint.

We stopped here in the dark. We quickly spotted it but did not realise. It was only when checking images on my phone that we realised we had found it. A nice but busy spot.

I like the area, nice and quiet (few tourists and walkers) on a very windy day.

A day out to the coast to pick up a virtual and this was quite close. All the beaches around here not so dog friendly. Bolt clearly visible on curb.

Rivet easy to locate thanks to previous comments, but Surface Block would have needed excavating. Too many visitors around to use the trowel...

1.5m W of ashteroth's marker bolt, 2m back from kerb, in middle of stony path, about 2 inches down. Worked out location from Pharisee's location photo then the screwdriver struck concrete (the path is surprisingly soft otherwise).
Partially uncovered, in middle of path Note position of damaged kerbs to L and tape-marked bolt/rivet in kerbline approx in line to ticket machine

In the absence of a diagram, I looked mainly in the area of a former parking pay station of the south side of the road as this is where my GPS pointed. It seems others have thought it was here too. I saw the stud (not OS?) on the kerb on the north side of the road, but didn't spot the bolt I now know was a couple of metres away, assuming it was exposed. Annoying!

I visited this location a month or so ago but couldn’t find the surface block. Well, I did go totally unprepared with nothing more than the grid reference. I mean… how hard could a surface block be to find? Specially as it was right in the middle of a roadside footpath. Yeah... right! There was no OS sketch map or photo for this location but fortunately, a previous finder had posted a photo showing the blocks location with reference to a marker disk nailed between two kerb stones. Armed with this photo, I set out again. It wasn’t surprising that I hadn’t found it on my previous visit. Someone... the local council, perhaps, had covered it with a new layer of compacted sand and gravel; presumably to fill a hollow in the path that turned into a puddle when it rained. So... How was I to excavate the public footpath without some nosy individual asking what I was doing? Fortunately, it was raining and who in their right mind would visit Southwold Harbour on a cold, wet afternoon in September? No-one. I never saw another soul all the time I was prodding to locate the block and it’s subsequent uncovering. I took the necessary photos, covered it up again and beat a hasty retreat. This one isn’t difficult to locate, if you have the photo but uncovering it may be a problem at busy times.

Trig sits in a grass verge next to a narrow pavement that runs along the outside of a Cavaran and Camping Park's perimeter fence.
