Overall approach from SSE. Parking available in entrance of old quarry at NM652258. This is one serious hill. As challenging as a Skye Munro. Beeline route to SW end of lower plateau at NM639271 is steep and grassy most of the way but above ~500m some careful scrambling is required. Once on the plateau the remaining ~700m distance to the summit is an easy walk. Vanessa in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. Flush bracket faces southeast, ~139. All sight holes open, pillar bolt viewable. Full 360 panoramic view. Descended safely down ESE slope aiming just right Ben Cruachan until down to about 400m, then returned to starting point via the two gorges.

Changeable weather on a fine round with Douglas and Jim F. Quite special to be able to savour a dram of Isle of Jura within sight of the Paps.

Otherwise known as Creach Beinn or Craig Ben. Vanessa in VGC with Spider intact, cap with raised lettering. Trig on W top but E top the better view-point I think. Previously visited this prominent Graham 12/05/00 no trig details noted.

vgc, cylindrical (20th Vanessa of the trip!), vgc, metal cap, wide raised letters. Fine rocky summit. Superdirect ascent from NE, 667263, easy ridge then steep climb but no difficulties. Playing race-the-ferry, up and down in 80 mins; driving onto the ferry 30 mins later. Great trip, despite persistent wind chill; 5 days with just one trig in the rain.
