HISTORY: Pillar completed 21st May 1958, cost not on record. Computed as secondary triangulation station NG80/33 within the Fort William block during 1959. Levelled for height to Class 2 precision also in 1959. Last maintained by the OS in June 1978. SITE VISIT: Approached from south. Parking for around three cars to north side of B8007 at Laga, NM632611. Followed mapped estate track to NM636632 then beeline to summit keeping right of stream, up through rocks. Vanessa in good condition. Spider centre plugged with tar. Flush bracket faces ESE, compass measurement 117°. All sight holes open, pillar bolt viewable. Full 360° panoramic view.

Fantastic viewpoint. No idea why others have only rated this as a 5? Superb views to Rum, Skye, Eigg and so on. Much better Marilyn summit than the much praised adjacent Ben Laga. Pillar is in fantastic condition just some cracking to the concrete around the base of the pillar.

vgc, cylindrical trig, asphalt plug. Fine slabby rocky summit, fine view. From Glenborrodale 607609 to include the Yeaman Leac Shoilleir but 1999 ascent was from Laga.
