Parking and route as per Clochandighter. Boggy, tussocky ground at first gradually improving the nearer the pillar you get. Good view.

Superlative view to the northern fells. it was a shame that we timed it here with a sleet squall, but it wasn't too long before it had speedily passed through.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 6th September 1955 costing £30.5s.0d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NX56/DM/T29 by distomat observation during 1958. Levelled for height also in 1958. Last maintained by the OS in June 1988. SITE VISIT: Parked in wide area, north side of B796 at NX549623. Straight line up hill from parking spot. Tussocks at lower levels, burnt heather towards the top. Pillar still in good condition. Spider centre plugged with smooth brown plaster. Flush bracket faces 327° NNW. Vented through SE sight hole. Open outlook to surrounding hills and coastline beyond.

vgc, brown resin plug. Deeply tussocky heathery ascent from N, path at start & finish, goes missing in between. Heathery compact summit (cloud, rain, no view)
