Walked from Newlands Corner car park, north west beside Trodd’s Lane for about 750 metres until reaching footpath to right. After about one hundred metres path emerges beside a golf course. Pillar is clearly visible behind the green. Extra point for easy and clear access. Good views towards north west. Trees grown up around.

Parked in layby near golf course and walked up public footpath adjacent to road through a tunnel of trees. White painted trig visible as soon as end of treeline is apparent. Very pleasant little walk. Golfers were present; waited until they'd completed the hole next to the pillar before swooping in for the obligatory selfie. Someone had left a crust of bread on top of it, presumably for the birds. Easiest bag of the day (not a hotly-contested accolade, as it turned out...)

Parked at Newlands Corner (£1.30 for one hour) and then walked to the trig pillar. Pillar is in good condition next to a golf green.

The fifth TP of the day and obviously jaded we got totally lost in the woods. Had to renew our parking fee for a further hour by app we went so far in the wrong direction. All part of the fun.

The Newlands parking site once a free location now demands payment. Chose to walk uphill from West Clanden railway station, through woods and onto golf course.

Walked down from Newlands Corner but, without GPS, got a bit lost. Found it in the end at the top of the golf course

Visited on circular walk taking in St Martha's Hill also - very pleasant spot. Trig located at side of a PROW by 7th green of Guildford Golf Course. Pillar in good condition, painted white (bit dirty now) including FB. Cap missing, asphalt plug; 1 sight hole open. No views.

Last time I was here, many years ago, I taught the (now) DG OS to take a compass bearing. Wonder if she remembers how?! Today, following a very good but muddy Farnham Ramblers walk from Newlands Corner to St Martha's Hill and Chilworth. Limited views over sunny Guildford. Asphalt cap, E s/hole open, otherwise painted white (incl the FB) and in vgc.

2nd pillar of a 11 day cycling holiday to the SE. Followed tracks through woods and suddenly emerged unexpectedly on golf course! Smart white coat of paint and surrounded by neatly trimmed grass.

Parked at Newlands Corner and headed North before crossing the road and following the footpath along the edge of the golf course. Trig is easily visible from the footpath and with no golfers around we walked right up to it. Trig is in good condition, recently painted white including FB.

Saturday afternoon stroll with Craig and Sarah (after a 'lad's night'). Went to a mini Mountainboard session near cafe at top, ate cornish pasties and then marched through bracken to find the Trig at the edge of a golf coarse. Lovely Spring Day - yay!

Hacked though the bracken clad woods then cursed when I realised I could have used the grass around the edge of the golf course. One small pull in off the main road but not ideal at busy times

Lovely walk up the edge of the golf course, via the trig, up to Newlands Corner and round. Great way to unwind after work. Me. 150m

Easter Sunday, first walk for a while due to Foot and Mouth outbreak. From Newlands Corner to St Martha's Church, found the latter open for the first time, and enjoyed its superb embroideries.
