Parked at the car park and walked down the desolate road. Walked up the peat access track. As mentioned, trig base is very exposed on one side. Centre cap with raised letters. With CJ.

Nearly the same route as the MDs. Parked at the end of the track at N 59 06.032 W 003 08.893 and followed the main peat cutters track all the way to the trig. Foundations very exposed, but still stable. Interesting to see how deep the foundations of trigs go!

Nice bog trot up from the car park. Jayne wants to take the track back! Skuas kept an eye on us, but we didn't get dive bombed this time! Trigpoint in good condition, though the bottom of the concrete doesn't seem to be on solid bedrock.

The views from here were surprisingly spectacular, and the pillar itself is interesting, since its foudation is exposed. (As IM mentions, peat cutting takes place in this area.) Moreover, this is on the middle of an RSPB reserve, and there is plenty of interesting wildlife. Do not miss this TP!
