3 of 5 logs today and second trig. Route as Analoguesat. with parking at NY 81987 88093 and the gate at NY 82141 88046. Within access land. Very boggy and lots of sheep. About a 1 3/4 mile walk return. Nice views and the rain had now stopped.

There is a decent sized layby at the junction to the northwest which makes a good place to start the assault on this pillar. After passing the sheepfold stay well wide of the fence to avoid the boggy areas. There is a walkers gate at the start of the wall - go through it & up the wall to the pillar. Another pillar with wonderful views - Cross Fell visible in the far distance.

Up from the road followed fence good views from the trig, seen a large fox on way back he bolted from cover and sped away.

Parked in lay bye on junction of road to Sundaysight and walked east along road to gate into Meadhopelaw. Passing the sheepfold heading southeast to the junction of two walls about half way to the trig. There is a wooden gate just before the junction which goes through to the east side of the wall, follow the east side of the wall to the trigpoint. A bit bogged in places but mostly short grazed grassland.

Parked to the north at NY8245387964 opposite the sheep fold. Made my way diagonally across the first field where there is a wooden gate to hop then up to the trig from here. Stick close the the fence / wall and the going is easier.

Rain becoming intermittent but still overcast and breezy. From roadside gate via the impressive sheepfold. Gate close to where the fence becomes a wall avoids having to climb the latter. Plug intact; views limited.

Same route as previous visitors but found ourselves on the right side of the wall. No boots needed due to dry conditions.

Walked up from the gate north of the TP and at the top carefully climbed over the wall. The wall has suffered a minor collapse at one point close to the TP - over-enthusiastic TP baggers perhaps?

Parked at NY 81888 88067 and off i went over the wall and over Hareshaw common up to the trig, very cold but great views this morning.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 3rd November 1951 costing £20.8s.0d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NY86/T40 within the Hexham secondary block during 1953. Levelled for height to Class 2 precision also in 1953. Last maintained by the OS in August 1978. SITE VISIT: Approached from north. Parked roadside by gate at NY824879 then due south to pillar keeping east of boundary line. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with deep indented lettering. Flush bracket faces northwards, compass measurement 11°. Vented through back (south) sight hole. Open outlook in most directions.
