I am also indebted to 21qazxsw for showing the way. (Your coin is still there, btw.) Scenic walk up to the trig through a veritable maze of gorse bushes, some of them as tall as I am! Lots of cyclists, dog walkers, and bird spotters out today, but no soldiers, so made my way to the trig unchallenged and enjoyed a great view across Farnborough. Lots of low flying aircraft punctuated the silence.

Followed route as described by 21qazxsw. At the point where you turn north by a gate a sign said Military Area no access. As there were no flags flying I carried on along the tracks to the Pillar. Good views from the top. On the way back I headed north along a track until I reached the fence line and followed it westwards until a gap by a culvert appeared. The walk along the busy road was not easy.

This is the definitive way of getting to this trig without rummaging through the woods or going over / under / through barbed wire fences. Parked at the car park on Aldershot Rd to the NE of The Foresters pub (GU52 9EP) to the WSW of the trig, then walked up to the trig following the tracks (see route map attached). Trig is in good condition, unfortunately the plastic replica centre cap with protruding letters that was fitted by "descarte" is now broken, rear sighthole closed, all other sightholes open. I left a 2p coin in the front sighthole for the next visitor to find. Nice views of Farnborough Airport from up there.

Looked at this trig a couple of times, third time lucky. It was on the ‘to do’ list. Parked on grass verge at road junction.went into woods ,following the green chain link fence to top of hill ,a stroke of luck there was a loose section, that was out of sight from road.over fence straight on a path that went straight to trig. Turned out easier than we thought. Last trig for 2019.

Intended to park as close as possible but couldn't spot anywhere, very very busy road. Ended up in the carpark at N51° 16.071' W0° 48.949'. I then walked down the road on the up and down verge to try and spot an entrance to the land where the trig was, high fence and locked gates didn't seem to hold out much hope. Then I spotted a gap under the fence at N51° 16.154' W0° 48.435' where it went over a stream, even had a handy pallet to stand on. I was then on the correct bit of land and made my way to the trig. Saw both dog walkers and cyclists in the area of land so there must be a way in somewhere? Walked back via the path to the carpark on the other side of the road, much safer. However I did spot a benchmark at a culvert on the way to the trig which I wouldn't have if I'd taken the forest route. http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm95547

A walk from Fleet Pond during which I visited pillar no:s5542 and decided to linger awhile in the hope of seeing a 'plane take off from Farnborough Airport. Within minutes I was rewarded as a small (perhaps 50 seater) 'plane came tearing down the runway towards me - I'm sure that the pilot managed a 'wing-tilt' acknowledgement to me as he/her roared off into the sky! And the trigpoint? Attached to it was an MOD notice stating 22 Field Hospital and a jumble of numbers significant to them only. Also spotted nearby a pile of spent bullet cartridges. Within five minutes of walking away from all of this, I noticed many beautiful coloured damsel-flies hovering over the heath streams; also the yellow of bog asphodel and the tiny tormentil flower. Such a great variety of interest hereabouts.
